Uninstalling MicroAgents & Deleting Records
This topic describes how to remove a MicroAgent and delete the MicroAgent and asset records from a system. You must remove MicroAgents and their associated records for assets that you want to retire and delete. Retiring and deleting assets on a regular basis allows you to remove unused assets from your Systems Manager reports and therefore maintain a clear picture of your working environment.

Deleting MicroAgent Records & Asset Records from Systems Manager
This section explains how to delete MicroAgent records and asset records in the following scenarios:
- Deleting a MicroAgent record and an asset record from a system
- Deleting only an asset record if the MicroAgent has already been removed from the system
Note: Be sure to uninstall the MicroAgent before deleting the records. If you do not uninstall a MicroAgent before you delete its records, Systems Manager recreates the machine in the database the next time it runs hardware and software scans.
Follow these steps to delete a MicroAgent record and/or an asset record:
- Click the Admin tab.
- Click the MicroAgent subtab.
- Point to the MicroAgent menu and choose Delete to display the MicroAgents page:

- To identify inactive MicroAgents, click the filter button
and enter a date range to display the machines that have not registered with Systems Manager in the last month.
- Select the system name(s) whose records you want to delete.
- To delete a MicroAgent record and an asset record, click the Delete button.
Note: If any of the selected MicroAgents have contacted Systems Manager in the past two days, a warning displays. Make sure that all MicroAgents that are being deleted have been uninstalled from end users' systems. To continue with deletion, click the Continue button.

To delete an asset record from a system whose MicroAgent is already removed, click the Delete and Uninstall button and then click Continue.
Systems Manager deletes the MicroAgent records and the asset records for the systems you select.
Uninstalling MicroAgents Manually
Follow these steps to manually uninstall a MicroAgent from an endpoint:
- Download the MicroAgent uninstaller from https://manager.systemsmanagementondemand.com/static/public/uninstall.exe.
- Run uninstall.exe on the actual machine from which you want to uninstall the MicroAgent.
- Click Uninstall to begin the process of removing the MicroAgent from the machine.
Throughout the duration of the program, the uninstaller displays messages allowing you to track its progress.
- When the uninstaller completes, click Finish to close the program.
Note: There are times when you must reboot after removing the MicroAgent. If that is the case, click Reboot to restart your machine or click Cancel to reboot at another time.
- Delete the MicroAgent and asset records from Systems Manager.
